Ball & Chain Grill

When I eat out I'm paying for the service and this restaurant does not dissapoint. The owners and wait staff are friendly and engaging. I've been to fake friendly (I'm talking to you USA) but fake engaging is hard to do. The steaks are amazing....I'm not a fan of dry aged but its worth a try as you wont find it in many places. But if you want a blissful steak go the eue fillet. Good beer selection witht many on tap and an excellent wine list. It's not perfect but its pretty darn good.

Top spot with excellent service. After turning up to our Italian restaurant booking on the same street and couldn’t get over the noise !!! inside the restaurant, we decided to ‘wing it’ and see if the “Ball and Chain” would have a spot for us....The universe provided! Beautiful steaks, oysters and our favourite Tomfoolery Wines!! Thanks Jamie and Coral for looking after us. Glad the Italian was too noisy and it lend us to you.

My husband and I had steak. The medallions of eye fillet in wine jus was delicious. Melted in the mouth. My husbands porterhouse was a bit drier but pleasant. The other couple had the fish which they enjoyed. The deserts were enjoyed by everyone. Service...was excellent. Wine list was adequate. I enjoyed the Pinot noir and my husband thought the Shiraz excellent.

Great location in the port area of Hobart. A mix of an old secular pub and a more modern venue. It is mainly a steak restaurant, but the ceviche and scallops to Hintern with were excellent. We had the Dry Aged Scoth Fillets, cooked to a medium wheel, the other Nedium. Excellent value. Thank you to Jamie. Reserva una mesa ahora

Both the location and the service were good. The food was not bad. We ordered a beef cheek and a scotch fillet. The texture of the beef cheek was very good as it was soft and tender The scotch fillet was served medium. The...inner part of the steak was good but the outer part was burnt....

Great experience to eat here! We both ordered filled steaks perfectly cooked. And one side of the cheese cauliflower. Along with a bottle of Bay of Fires Pinot Nior. Fantastic meal, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Treat yourself here when you visit Hobart!

We went twice, both times a superior experience. Excellent service staff friendly and happy to explain wines and steak decisions. Dried old steak was amazing. Appropriate price wines. Beautiful seating with good privacy and space. Really enjoyed!

A terrible service, a waitress who knew nothing about the menu, had to ask. Not her fault, management's fault. The steak was not seasoned, the blue cheese sauce looked like a pok and was tasty. Terrible food, terrible service, never go back Reserva una mesa ahora

Visited with a. group of twelve, didn’t miss a beat with terrific meals for everyone. Steaks were amazing !!! Definitely be back…

One of the best grill restaurant in Hobart. Food was great and on top of that service was also great.
