Bamiyan Restaurant

Have been coming here since it opened and I loved the flavours straight away. Since then I have brought almost everyone in my life along no-one has been disappointed. That includes fussy eaters, vegetarians, complete carnivores(!) and gourmet cooks!. On my last visit the chef rose to the occasion to accommodate someone who is allergic to tomatoes. Even then, my friend was able to get a broad experience of Afghani cuisine. Bamiyan's banquet menus are also fantastic for larger groups. The service can be a little slow, so I usually come in early. But the ambience is lovely so a great chance to relax.

The service was average: the waiter didn't smile once and was effective in doing his job but was not particularly efficient or friendly. The place was almost empty apart from us so the food came impressively quickly. The portions were generally small considering the price, but quite filling. The quality of the food was quite good, but not amazing (might just be personal preference). The restaurant itself is quite dark but is nicely decorated. Overall, you'll get some good food if you visit this restaurant, but if you don't go you won't be missing that much.

This was our third time back to this restaurant, and whilst the food was very good, it was actually a little expensive for very small portions. We went mid week, and were the only customers, which is a shame as the service is always good, friendly and welcoming. Perhaps a reduction in price or add a little more to the plate so guests can share may bring in some new business.

Tuesday evening dinner at Bamiyan was met with a delightful aroma as we entered the restaurant. Service was good with a smile and the food was really tasty. Not the cheapest but good value. We had the banquet for 3 and there was VERY little left. Altho only 3 out of five I would have liked to give it half a point more. Perfect for a mid week dinner. Reserva una mesa ahora

You want to stay for a meal the minute you walk through the door! A welcoming fire, unbelievable aromas assail your senses, and, warm friendly attention from the staff. Those first impressions are reinforced 100% by the time you leave this delightful restaurant. I hope the review from D. Sarkis is wrong and that you are NOT moving from Five Dock.

Friends took us on Sunday night and as they were familiar with the food they did the ordering. Wow, what a feast! Three types of dumplings, rice, eggplant( fabulous), daggies and paneer and ending with the best pistachio ice cream ever! Fabulous flavours, lovely use of spices and beauty fully cooked, can't wait to go again!!

A surprising new experience for me. Comfortable restaurant, good service, great food. The dishes were the real standout for me, soft Aghan bread, flavoured rice, dahl with spinach, soft eggplant. Flavours were subtle and gentle. The only catch was the price.

My first visit to the place the food was amazing, going back a second time, the rice was cold, and curry meat dish tiny and overpriced.
