I booked for 14 ppl for an early Saturday night dinner. They set up for 12ppl instead but couldn't do anything about it as they didn't have any other available tables- lack of apology and lack of appropriate alternatives. Very cramped and hot, hard to move around the restaurant. Food was average, hit and miss and expensive for what it was. Children's fried rice had a big sharp chicken bone in it. This should have been taken off the bill but instead we got 'it's because the chicken is cooked on the bone, sorry'.Staff were overall lovely but run off their feet so made a number of mistakes and were not on top of drink orders. The first thing is the lovely greeting from the staff, the second is the lightness from the skylights running the length of the restaurant.The menu is not long but is easy to decipher with a glossary explaining the terms for those of us not knowing what bao or ssang might be. The dishes are also clearly marked for gluten free, diary free and vegetarian.We ordered a range of dishes on our first visit, all of which we loved. Highlights were the Korean chicken wings, the honey eggplant (so loved even for those of us who did not like eggplant) and the Yuzu creme brulee. As regular Vietnamese lovers we thought we would try Bang Bang as we had heard a lot of good reviews.Well there was five of us, we arrived and were greeted by a lovely waitress who gave us all the specials took our drink orders and let us decide on meals.We chose six different Tapas type meals to share. While they were tasty enough we were very disappointed in the sizes of the servings in comparison to the prices.We normally would expect two Bo to cost around $10-12 ,these were $17 .We also ordered Lamb ribs which were big on rib small on meat.Korma wrap was tasty and a decent size. We had dinner on Saturday night with another couple and loved it. We arrived at 7pm and were told the wait would be about 40 mins, so went over the road for a drink. We got a confirmation text immediately, and then another after 30 mins to say we were next in the queue - very helpful and efficient. Our table was available after about 45 mins, so pretty accurate.Service and food are excellent, and the relaxed, informal atmosphere is perfect for couples or groups. We had the 'Feed Me' chef's selection for $49.50 per person which included 3 starters, 1 small plate, and 1 large plate with boiled rice side. First time with a group of 6 adults outdoors in a Melbourne Winter. Saturday night was buzzing with an eclectic crowd. We ordered many dishes and none disappointed. Egg plant was amazing. Crab sliders with awesome slaw were amazing. Pulled beef roles were amazing. Bang Bang chicken had some spice and was excellent. A side of greens was a lovely palate cleanser. We ordered 2 of the eggplant it was so good. Beers (Hop Nation from Footscray) and wine (Barossa Shiraz bottle) were very good too. Service was excellent. We started to get a bit chilly after 2 hours outside especially those facing the street. Heaters were overhead, but rug up if table is outdoors in Winter

We came here for a quick bit of their "Express Lunch" pork roll was wonderfull and left my mouth watering. Friends had the noodle soup bowl which was so full of flavour. Very modern Asian Cuisine and along with a gorgeous glass of wine we were done! Fast and friendly service, within 10 minutes we were seared wine in hand and lunch before us. Fast and fabulous! Comfortable surroundings and music at a good level to break the noise and allow you to still have a good chat over your meal. Dinner menu looked great too. Looking forward to coming again for that.

We had a lovely dinner here on Saturday night.On arrival we are told it would be at least a half hour wait for a table.In the middle of winter I find this to be extremely inconvenient wandering around Mordialloc looking for somewhere to have a pre dinner drink.(Unfortunately you can't book for dinner unless there is 6 or more of you.)However, we did have a lovely meal and cocktails, and although it was extremely busy the staff were fantastic, extremely friendly and our meal came quickly. Definitely will revisit this trendy, happy spot again.

A great dining experience is one that has great food and even better service. This place has both. Bang Bang's staff ALL had such a great vibe that I was mistaken into thinking it was their first night of business. During the night we had Ally, Juliet and Simone look after our table - they made our night. We were unsure as what we should order and Simone quickly recommended her fav dishes. We left the ordering in her hands and she did a wonderful job. Congrats Bang Bang on recruiting such brilliant staff! Will def be back! Reserva una mesa ahora

Dropped in for a 'light lunch' on our way out, big mistake. Ordered three dishes and they were much bigger than expected, a very pleasant surprise. The spicy wings had just the right amount o heat to them while the soft shell sliders were devoured. Can't wait for a return visit.

Friendly and lively, this place is such a find. Flavours smack you in the face. Small sharing plates are a generous size and service is efficient and friendly without being intrusive. Try the fried eggplant and the satay brisket roti roll.
