I read some of the negative reviews in this region and many are from my fellow Americans complaining about slow service ... hello, this is France, not McDonald 's, and we are dining on their schedule, not ours. That means slow meals and yes it can take...forever to get the check. In the case of this restaurant, operated by a man and woman (maybe husband and wife? , service was prompt and friendly, and we had a choice of tables outside on their lovely patio. My sister had a vegetarian salad which she said was one of the best she 's had on our trip so far, and I had the coq au vin, very good, and the chocolate mousse, lovely. we had a stop in saint cirq la popie, and that at 12 noon. So we were looking for a small restaurant that had another table free for us four. we came in the "bar caffe restaurant la popie". very nice staff, they had the choice to eat on the terrace or on the inside. the food was of good quality and the service does not have our time to serve our lunch. this is a real place to eat, we can recommend this location in this wonderful samll city.
I'm a bad one late at 9:30. We were happy as it was and ate an excellent meal (between and magret) .the staff is very professional and shows appreciable empathy. They even take the time to talk to us about the visits to do. and all this with a smile!!Bravo and thank you!
Two well-producing rocamadour omelettes, two homemade nut pies with a beautiful vanilla ball all protected from the sun under a abundant virgin vine, very good, without chichis, thanks to the waiter for the recipe of the pastis quercynois. Good moment of relaxation.

restaurant on a beautiful shaded terrace one can wait to see the site the plates are well garnished one can dear to our taste the producer's rocamadour just beside a slaughter (letou's cave) go to make a visit you wouldn't be disappointed
We had coq au vin, very thin sauce, two potato's and a chicken wing! Very disappointed. As we had high hopes for this place! I am not sure they realise that the dish was very low standard. If I find photo I will post it.
Seven of us had lunch here.The service was a little slow but the food was good and the vine-covered terrace was the perfect setting for a hot August day.
