We went to this place after a picnic by the chateau, hoping to have a relaxing drink. Eventually a waiter asked what we wanted. We ordered a rosé and dry white wine. He asked if it mattered which wine, to which I replied asking what they had. He then brought me the wine list. A couple of minutes later, a waitress literally grabbed the wine list from me. I asked if I could order, which she grudgingly allowed us to do, muttering about how the wine list was from the restaurant and wondering if I behave like that in my own country (like what exactly? . I tried to explain in French (the language I had used all along what had happened when she brought the drinks (waiter brought me the list you sna...

visit a Espelette on a market day and we are transported by all this great gastronomy. Noon arrives, our three children (6 years, 3 years and 4 months) accompany us, it is time to find a place to recover otherwise we risk the crisis...But after seeing, feeling, tasted as many beautiful flavors... no questions to go to the first restaurant without interest that will necessarily disappoint us. . we stop on several cards and one of them draws our attention. a typical menu with local products. even the child menu offers the discovery of the Axoa. And nothing has disappointed us: the products are excellent, the welcome is warm, the pleasant terrace....bref we have discovered flavors that we do no...

Maybe it's because we visited during the Espelette chili fete but it wasn't the best dining experience. Ok so the food was ok as it turned out but a set menu and no choices for a set price you had to pay up front when reserving detracted big time. We were then asked if we'd be having wine with dinner and then when we said yes were asked to pay for that up front as well...totally bizarre behaviour and not what you'd expect from any restaurant. When one of our party didn't come to eat there was a lot of argument about the refund even though the restaurant was largely empty when we dined. In the end all was resolved amicably, but the experience didn't make us feel like we'd return again.

We had dinner in this restaurant bar during our week of holidays in espelette. We wanted to discover the local specialties and we were not disappointed, thanks to the menu at 20€ that allows to taste local products: Basque paste, veal axoa, sheep cheese and Basque cake. all with excellent white sangria home or an explosive arranged rum (which was very kindly offered to us)! We found this restarant quite late in the afternoon (around 2.30 pm) and asked politely if they still served food. The staff agreed to serve us but we had to wait for about 40 minutes for a salad a some almost raw meat with old dry chips. When we complained the staff answered unpolitely instead of apoligising!

we were 2 adults and 3 Toulouse children decided to deguest the dish of the corner: l axoa. We've had a lot of fun. Axia is a success and home fries are a plus. Super nice and comfortable home despite the tiredness of a next day's weekend espelette party.

We came to eat in this restaurant during a short walk. the tray of charcuterie was excellent!! Just like duck magret and axoa, a little more disappointed with parsillad mussels not really to our taste! I recommend! (very suitable for pmr)

During a visit we were able to taste various dishes all very well cooked from the veal axoa to the fried mussels, passing through the duck confit. a very warm welcome Reserva una mesa ahora
