I loved that this place seems to be family owned and run, but I have to give feedback on my burrito. They have a burrito option on the menu which has ham in it. I asked to substitute the ham w/ chorizo and I figured since it's swapping 1 meat for another, there would be no charge. But, I was charged $5 more. I figured it would be fine, until I got the burrito. First off, it took them forever to make the burrito. We were waiting for over 10 min. When I finally received my burrito it was over filled with egg and little to no chorizo. I'm not joking when I tell you I had not more than 5 bites of chorizo. I have been a patron of Bay Area Bagels, formerly known as House of Bagels, for almost thirty years. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit. By 10:30am, they had already run out of half of their bagel flavors. I ordered a bagel sandwich and a bagel with cream cheese, and despite being only the third customer in line, it took nearly twenty minutes to receive my order. The service was also lacking, with the staff being rude when asked for an update on the wait time. When I inquired about the status of my order, the young lady at the front counter ignored me and claimed it was not her responsibility. Lots of nice bagel options. Huge menu with helpful pictures and descriptions. Nothing particularly aesthetic about the place very straight forward. The counter service was pretty slow but the wait for our food was alright. The bagel sandwiches we got were just okay. The bagel could've been toasted, and the egg inside could've used seasoning. Paid nearly $10 for a mediocre bagel sandwich I could've made at home. 3.4/5 overall
Love the Bagels when they have them available. Went in the other day just before lunch and wanted a dozen plain bagels and 1/2 dozen all everything. Was told they were out of them. How can a bagel shop be out of bagels just before lunch? Has happened to me previously as well. With parking in the downtown Burlingame area so difficult due to the endless construction, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

After confirming twice that I wanted a poppyseed bagel with lox, the restaurant gave me the wrong type of bagel. Additionally, I did not enjoy the texture as it seemed stale.
Don’t order online, we placed order online and waited at least 30” for our 2 veggie bagels. Saw a lot of people come in and order and leave before us.
The cinnamon raisin bagel was dull with very few raisins or cinnamon. The service was poor while waiting to place an order.
Picked not just one, but two large black hairs out of my bagel and my MOUTH this morning. Absolutely foul.
