I haven't been to Max's in years but had to take someone to the airport and thought this would be a perfect place. Upon entering, I noticed there weren't that many people in there on a Sunday around noon there was an unpleasant smell to the restaurant. When we sat down at our table, the menus were sticky. I can't stand that. It makes me feel like the place is unclean. I ordered a 1/2 pastrami sandwich and green salad. The salad was overdressed and had so many different things in it, I didn't really like it. The sandwich is what I always remember about Max's; delicious pastrami w/lots of flavor. A lovely Mother's Day breakfast for my mom me. Service was quick with a smile. Food was yummy. We got there at 10am and got seated iin the bar section which was nice and quiet. Mom loved her omelette, I had the lox bagel.
This is a great place to get all your yummy comfort foods and then more. Good value for the portions you get and the food comes the way you ordered it. Everyone was able to choose what they wanted to eat.
Very good food. Especially liked the crab cakes with the chipotle aioli. Do not know the name of the combo playing tonight but they were very good and a real delight to have the live music!

Great atmosphere with the Jazz, but the food was 4/5 while being way over-priced. $23 for a rueben and fries that took 45 minutes to serve.It's fine in a pinch tho, likely good for drinks
Celebrating a dear friend's birthday and we were all delighted! The chicken pot pie was huge and so good! We shared the chocolate cake with buttercream layers...amazing!
