Love the venue and have eaten here before and loved it so this is purely based on group menu. If you order off the normal menu you would not be disappointed. The staff are very friendly and polite but not as attentive as they have been previously as we kept having to ask for drinks orders. The room we were given was excellent with a roaring fire and doors to open if you got too hot. The table were set out in an n shape so you had your back to people. Arranging them in a square so we could sit around and talk to everyone would have been much better. As I understand it the chef was off so everything was prepped earlier. Really rate this place, the food is fantastic and service was so friendly and knowledgeable. She told us she had been there for 10 years. It says a lot about the owners and the business. Had a fantastic Sunday lunch. The beef was superb, nice and pink with big roasties and creamy mash. Rich gravy as well as buttered carrots and cabbage came alongside. All lovely, only tiny niggle was that the veg portion was on the small side. It is not the cheapest of places but you certainly get what you pay for in terms of quality. Decent , quiet country pub just south of Lancaster. Food good...cold slices of sirloin especially so. Excellent Bowland Beer. Worth the drive out of town. Service: 4
