We have eaten here in the past and had a very good experience but it has been a year since our last visit. The Inn was very quiet with few customers and the atmosphere was therefore lacking. The food was extremely disappointing Cumberland Sausage lacked taste and could well have been a cheap supermarket brand, the Sea Bass was swimming in oil. The service was OK but somewhat detached and nobody asked if the food was OK that's really unusual. The price of approx £70 for one course and one drink each seems much higher than other resturants in the area and the quality just wasn't there to justify it. We love the bay horse. The food is brilliant, the staff are welcoming and capable. We can and do take our dog too. Had to log on to write a review for tonights meal. We all had starters and mains, every plate almost licked clean. I had chicken, it was delicious, the mash was so creamy and whatever the thing was with it was soo tasty. The boys had lamb and both said it was the best lamb they had ever had. Food compliments from everyone throughout our meal. Everyone had a dessert beside me (I ate a bit of everyone's and again, fabulous)
Good Sunday lunch. A British tradition, can be got wrong, they didn't. Cosy place, warm welcome from the staff. I am learning that one should avoid starters when having the Great British Sunday Lunch, as pubs serving this are invariably super-generous, and it's a shame to leave stuff on the plate. Would do it again.
Fantastic food, lovely and delicious. Staff we're very helpful couldn't do enough for us kept checking if everything was ok, would have been nice if was asked how do like steak cooked one of them wasn't cooked enough for a couple of guests, mind and friends was perfect. Will defo visit again sometime soon

It’s a lovely place, although it’s a quiet time for everyone the staff here were very friendly and helpful. I was with two friends and we all thought the food was delicious. It will not be long before I will be back.
The best meal I’ve had in long time,every course was delicious and good size portions. The service was top notch and the gentleman who served us was great, a real credit to the establishment
Have visited the Bay Horse several times a year for the two decades and always been greeted by lovely staff serving top notch fare. One of our favourite restaurants….highly recommend!

Sunday lunch. Fabulously cooked roast beef served with a vegetables that were cooked perfectly. With lush gravy and Yorkshire pud it was perfect. Service excellent
