This used to be my favorite spot in the 90s, but something seems to have changed. Back then, I loved the Surfn Bird, Surfin Pig, and Shark Bite. Recently, my wife and I stopped by to get the Pig and the Bird. While the sandwiches are still massive, the flavor of the meats has definitely deteriorated. The turkey was bland, and the ham was overly sweet and thin, unlike the thick-cut meats I remembered. Additionally, the bacon has shrunk, and the bread is no longer that soft, pillowy comfort it used to be. I still finished my meal, but it just wasn't as enjoyable as before. Beach Hut is my favorite go-to spot for sandwiches. Great food, friendly people. Unfortunately, I think that they may be cutting back a bit due to rising prices? I ordered a Malibu, my favorite, which has pastrami and avocado. It didn't seem that they had as much meat in the sandwich as usual. And the bread was regular white bread (good, and toasted) rather than what they usually have, a white bread with embedded pieces of garlic. They still load it up with lots of avocado, though. Also, at this location, they need to work on the tables a bit. Several of them were wobbly, almost ready to fall down. But still great food and friendly staff.
This location is terrible. We were the first people in there and the place looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Bathrooms disgusting, tables didn’t look like they’d been wiped down for days. Meanwhile, a group of 4 people that seemed to be off duty employees were sitting at the counter drinking beer with an employee behind the counter that was on duty. Yes, the on duty employee was clearly drinking. Love BHD, but this location is awful. Make the drive to Lincoln, it’s worth it.
I paid $15.95 for a regular-sized sandwich that was carelessly assembled and tightly wrapped. To make matters worse, the tomatoes were soggier than my shorts in July. I really can't understand why those soggy tomatoes were included. I also ordered a small sandwich but received one that's the same size as a regular. So, why did I have to pay more for the regular? Come on, Beach Hut! Take pride in your work. This order could have been handled much better.

Always go and get the large surfing bird with no onions, but add cranberries and the employees always doing an amazing job at making the sandwich and the atmosphere is amazing and welcoming.
I hadn't been to BHD since before COVID. I ordered a regular Malibu sandwich and a Lagunitas beer, and the total came to around $34, which is quite impressive. It was the only one...
I'm done with this restaurant! I've tried to be patient and kind, but if your staff continues to be rude and unfriendly, I can't continue to support you any longer.
I have to say, this place is reliably excellent. I challenged them with a special request for their cooking salad, and I think they did a great job with it.
