I have been a loyal customer for 30 years, but I will be avoiding this restaurant in the future. Despite its reputation as the 'best in town', my recent experience was disappointing. Only one out of the five staff members seemed focused on taking orders, resulting in a slow start even though there was no queue. A young server took so long to prepare my pitta bread that two customers who arrived after me received their orders first, leaving no meat left for the kebab I had ordered. By the time the server finished wrapping my order, the kebabs were already lukewarm. When I got home, I had to microwave them to heat them up, resulting in hot meat and lukewarm salad. Overall, not a pleasant dinin...
Benny’s always had a reputation for having great food. Unfortunately standards have slipped. Had a kebab and it was inedible. Grainy, fatty lumps and stone cold. Forgot the salad. Spicy potatoes absolutely disgusting too. Such a shame as historically the food has been good. Also did not like the fact not a single member of staff was wearing a mask (this was before ‘freedom day’ or washing their hands between serving customers/making up food orders. A good hygeine nightmare and COVID disaster waiting to happen!!!
My daughter bought some fish and chips for lunch on Tuesday 19th May. When she got home and unwrapped it the fish was just a soggy mess! There was hardly any batter on the fish and what batter there was just stuck to the paper. So disappointed as normally this place has a good reputation. Sadly, very disappointed and even tho it was a warm day we expected the batter to be a bit crisp not a soggy mess. Will be going to Chippys in future.
I cannot find any fault with the service and quality at this restaurant. The staff member who took my order, Rhianna, double-checked to ensure everything was as I wanted. Although I had to wait for my fish order, I prefer it fresh. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere. I have been a patron for years and can confidently say it is better than ever. One question I have for Bennys is what happened to the beanie rounder?

Went to bennys for large battered sausage and chips x 2 The chips were reheated and sausage cheap and also over cooked.. only ever choosen to eat here but not again the fish last time was not fresh either .. not buying food to go in the bin
My wife wanted a surprise for her dad for his birthday.. He loves his fish and chips ... because of lockdown we phoned Bennys to arrange a delivery Fish and chips.. Scampi and chips .. was delivered on time piping hot .. Brilliant service
Not very impressed clearly was not cooked fresh probably left overs from lunchtime not very hot either charged £4 delivery but that was my choice as not wanting to go out during this virus
The fish and chips at this restaurant are excellent; probably one of the best I've had! The service is fast, efficient, and friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

We buy our meal from Bennys at least one a week. It is always fresh and cooked just right. A great place to pick up some tasty food.
