We walked via Leutaschklamm to Ederkanzel. There are signs and even I could do it. Weather was good so we had a great view on the mountains. From the terrace of the restaurant you can enjoy a great view. We had some beers and ate...pancakes, steak and reiberdatschi (pancakes from potatoes). I had a fluffy pancake which I would recommend not just as food but as an experience. A massive meal which encourages climbing the highest mountain immediately. Great stuff. Whilst the adults were chatting the kids played freely. There is a swing etc.

We walked up Austrian route from the car park start to the Leutascher Geisterklamm after we had walked the gorge. Not to difficult a walk slipping back and forwards over the German/Austrian borders. The Ederkanzel has a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains and...valleys. The drinks were about the norm and the home made cakes were fantastic. We then walked down the supply road to Lautersee lake to finish the day. Great days walking.
Situated at metres high, the German/Austrian border runs through the south facing terrace! It's about an hour's steep walk up through the trees from Mittenwald, but well worth the effort. Stunning views south into Austria in brilliant sunshine, and a pleasant welcome. We enjoyed...a well deserved' lunch with beer, feeling on top if the world'! Highly recommended!
Der Weg zur Ederkanzel lohnt sich in vielerlei Hinsicht. Aber an aller erster Stelle lohnt es sich wegen der grandiosen Aussicht. Einfach unbeschreiblich. Die Bedienung ist total freundlich. Absolut top :)! Die Brotzeit hat sich geschmeckt. Dazu ein kühles Bier. Was will man mehr!Wir kommen gern wieder!
