Looking for a place for a decent lunch in Allendale? This place has it. Mind you, it's one of the only place in Allendale I've tried, so any locals reading this are welcome to direct me to their area favorites. I'll be back in town in the near future. I ordered from their numbered menu board and had the #5 on a poppy bagel. The sandwich was a roast beef with cheese. The roast beef was good, plentiful, and very rare. Just the way I like it. The bagel was fresh and covered with more poppy seeds than I've ever seen a bagel topped with (see sandwich photo). Was it the best bagel I've ever had? Well, no. The bagels are really good but the service is a hot mess. I don't really expect a ton of friendly service when getting a bagel but I do expect all of my order to be in my bag when I get home. It was a big let down when we got back to the house and everyone had their order ready to eat except for me, which was the simplest of all with just a bagel with cream cheese. The staff also got into a bit of an argument right in front of us which is always interesting. They do make a great bacon egg and cheese here since they crack the eggs on the grille to order and it isn't that egg beaters microwave stuff. This place is something else. On their website, it 's convenient they have phrases such as Our friendly staff .. but that 's the biggest joke. This place is near my job and has mediocre food/prices verses their neighbor Allendale eats. But I will pay the extra $3 a sandwich than support this deli EVER AGAIN. The man who answers the phone really should take a few deep breathes before answering the phone because his customer service skills are a 1/10. I really enjoyed my bagel at this restaurant. I don't usually have bagels, so it was a nice treat. I had a plain bagel toasted with a delicious vanilla cranberry cream cheese. The cranberries were plump and juicy, adding a nice touch of sweetness. I also ordered a cup of coffee. The only downside was that there was a line at 9:30am and I felt like $6 was a bit pricey for just a bagel and coffee, especially without any additional toppings like eggs, bacon, or lox. Despite that, if I find myself in Allendale again, I would definitely consider coming back for another bagel.

II love the HEALTHY CHOICES that are always available at Bernies! I love that the owner of this deli is so happy to go above and beyond for his patrons! the place is immaculate and everything is ALWAYS fresh. They cook their own fresh turkey and roast beef and I also love that the beef is prepared RARE! Yummy! Thank you MIke for not changing the quality of your food , other places have brought the quality down and their prices up.. We really know why you have been in business so many years
The employees at this restaurant are extremely rude. I attempted to place a delivery order and it took a long time for someone to pick up the phone. Eventually, a very unpleasant man answered and I placed my order. The total was around $13, but the menu stated a $10 minimum. The man then abruptly told me there was actually a $15 minimum and hung up on me. I would recommend avoiding this place.
I would give this restaurant a five-star rating, but there is a problem that needs to be addressed. They put way too much cream cheese on their bagels, even when asked not to. Despite this issue, I will continue to go back because the bagels are delicious and made perfectly.
While the service may be a bit chaotic, the outstanding food at this restaurant more than compensates for it. I strongly suggest trying their perfectly cooked roast beef, their flavorful tuna and egg salads, and their delectable basil parmesan bagels.

I come here atleast two times each time I visit. The people are incredibly friendly and bagels are so fresh! Half price bagels after 1:30! Everything bagels ftw! Support your local business and eat here!
I have been coming to this restaurant for years. The assortment of bagels and cream cheese is consistently excellent. The service is quick and friendly.
