Birrieria Canelo's Estilo Michoacan

Sometimes I do inspections in this city (not food related), and when I’m in the area I try a different birria spot every time (there’s many). I really like this one. Super tasty. I had 2 tacos de cabeza and 3 tacos dorados de birria with cheese. Both tortilla types were really good. The birria was fresh and the consomé was super tasty, not salty or overpowering. The cabeza was soo good too! Soft and savory. Nothing was too greasy. The red salsa was rich, not watery (Mildly spicy if you’re Mexican, and probably more spicy for those that don’t always eat spicy.. try it anyway). I didn’t try other salsa. All veggies fresh too. During my occasional inspections in this city (which are unrelated to food), I make it a point to try a different birria spot each time I'm in the area, and this place stands out. The food is incredibly delicious. I ordered two tacos de cabeza and three cheese-filled tacos dorados de birria. Both types of tortillas were excellent. The birria was fresh, and the consomé was flavorful without being too salty or overwhelming. The cabeza was fantastic as well—tender and savory, with no greasiness at all. Small joint with limited seating literally like 3 tables however the tacos are legit. Here for the birria and it didn't disappoint. Prices are reasonable about $2.50 plus tax per taco. Refreshing homemade bottled drinks are around $6. Take home consome birria broth is about $5. The sauces that they have are quite spicy so Tread lightly. I love spicy but it was a bit much for me. Nonetheless, I was excited to be able to stumble upon this gem. They close early at 3pm everyday so take note.

Small hole in the wall restaurant you know they are authentic. Birria was delicious, and the sides (limes, onions, salsa) are self serve, so not to take advantage, but you 're also not getting jipped. 10/10. Delicious tasting birria tacos at affordable price. Yummy consomé comes free when you guy 3 tacos. Good vibes. Happy to support small business from Michoacán. Bonus handmade tortillas. Everything has home flavor. Si tienen sazón.

This place is fantastic! The meat has an amazing flavor, and I absolutely love the handmade tortillas. The salsa that comes with the birria is also a highlight. It's definitely worth the drive!

They are very prejudiced for not knowing Spanish. They serve their people first before anyone else. Would not recommend or come again. Poor customer service. Would give 0 stars if I can.
