Black bear books is a nice coffee shop. The cashier was very friendly and kind to every customer. Curiously, the smile turned into a repulsive awkward expression of rejection towards a person of color like me. At first, I thought it was just me, but...then I realized the smiles and laughs returned as soon as more white customers were being attended by the same person who showed her true colors to me a couple of seconds ago. It's hard to think I'm delusional when you so boldly experience this type of racism in a business.

Firstly, we were only picking up tickets at this venue, but we quickly realized that we wanted to check out everything in their shop. We loved how casual and sweet the owners, Gary and Teresa, were as they were genuinely interested in us! We ended...up buying books, greeting cards and some amazing deserts! Gary, said that they had the best cheesecake EVER and wow was he right!!! It is to die for; followed closely by their macaroons!!!!! Don’t miss this jewel of an eating establishment as well as a great little shop!

Read or buy a book, do a bit of gift shopping, come in for a coffee and a Cookie and listen to the locals playing their Ukuleles in the back of the shop. A perfect “ Get together “ place for friends. Comfy sofa or arm...chair, or just a simple table and chair. This IS the place to meet friends.by the way their coffee is super nice too.

This place is very welcoming and still maintains Covid guidelines. A good selection of books and coffee. Lots of room to have a coffee and animated discussion with friend or family. Make sure to drop in and grab some Oso Negro coffee to have back...home.

Stopped in on a rainy, cool Creston day. What a gem this place was. Borscht was great, good coffee, and a friendly owner. Bakery items are all made in-house and it shows, they were awesome.

Lots of books and art, a fireplace, nice seating arrangements, warm, clean and hospitable. My favorite coffee place in town for all these reasons.
