Had an unscheduled stopover in Glasgow due to travel issues caused by storms. Fancied heading out for a bite to eat and a drink in the evening- pub came up recommended online. The good reviews were spot on as it's a lovely pub. The place looks great and historic, inside and out. Lots of cozy spots to sit and chill- my type of place. Everything was clean and well-kept, including the toilets. Quite a few customers were there for food and the meal I had was excellent (Cajun chicken and fries) and pretty good value. Bar staff curt, rude, and unfriendly. Made to feel like an inconvenience. Noticed not welcoming to tourists asking about the ales and whisky. Negative atmosphere too.

Great, friendly pub with an excellent and changing selection of beers at a fair price. Food is a limited choice but tasty. A most enjoyable place to spend some time
