Our usual spot on Pickett in Fairfax is temporarily closed, so we decided to give this location a try, and I am extremely disappointed. I just returned from picking up our order, which was the spicy family meal, and the chicken was completely burnt through. There was hardly any sauce, either. I could tell something was off the moment I opened the box; the color was not right! It’s not like we picked up our food during peak hours! I even tipped 20% for the pickup! I will not be coming back to this location again. We are usually easy to please and understand the challenges the industry is facing right now, but this is unacceptable. They’ve changed the recipe! The one thing that made BonChon so special and worth the price was its incredible and unique chicken. Now, it's actually quite disappointing. There's way too much heavy breading, it tastes different, and it's just not the same anymore. We used to order from here for special occasions, and even my picky kids enjoyed the soy garlic strips. Now they won’t touch it, and I can’t blame them. We ordered from here a few months back and thought maybe they had sent us the wrong order. After the second time, I started asking around to find out what was going on and confirmed that they indeed changed the recipe. Unfortunately, we won’t be ordering from BonChon anymore.

The good was decent, not bad, but not the best. The location was somewhat clean, but smelt like a wet, old mop and the floor felt nasty. We got the half half strips, they gave a good amount, but they were definitely holding back on the sauce. The kimchi and radishes were good dude dishes, and the rice was okay. The service was lacking, they kind of rushed it and they only filled up the water a couple of times. It also took forever to get our food. Overall, I?d rate it a 2.5/5, but there?s no way to do half?s, so I gotta round down.

We couldn't stay to eat because the smell was akin to a backed-up restroom. We ultimately decided not to place an order. The staff was polite and informed us that there was a problem with the shared trash that was affecting the entire building. Right now, I wouldn’t recommend dining in. They should restrict access to curbside pickup only and keep the doors closed until the issue is resolved, rather than risk exposing patrons to such an unpleasant environment. I feel sorry for the staff who have to put up with that odor all day.
This place is a no-go for us. While we didn't encounter any bugs or hairs like some other reviewers, we won't be returning. I ordered the sliders, which could have been delicious, but they were missing chicken—seriously, the pickle was thicker than the meat! As for the Korean fried wings, they missed the mark as well. The sauce was decent, but the breading wasn’t up to par with what you’d expect from good Korean fried chicken.
**Original Review:** The chicken is fantastic, but I’ve grown tired of the small portions for the sides, even when we order them separately and pay extra. The coleslaw, which costs $2.95, was only half-filled, and the sauces are just a dollar for a half-serving. There are better options available at places like Pelicana and CM, among others.

I like Bon Chon food, but this is not the best Bon Chon location to eat at. It smells stinky sometimes, doesn?t look clean inside, and is overall very sketchy. So if you are looking to eat Bon Chon, don?t go to this location.
I ordered the half and half 10-piece chicken wings for $14.95. The wings had great flavor, but I found them to be a bit overpriced. They were also extremely greasy.
