A real find! A comfortable and really friendly country inn with cosy rooms, a drying room (ideal for walkers), and an extensive bar and dining area looking out onto attractive gardens and with a roaring open fire. The food’s excellent and very good value, with lots of choice on the menu including at least half a dozen tasty vegetarian options and a couple of unusual ones (eg a large mushroom dhal). Good choice of real ales too. And it’s great to stay somewhere where’s a family playing scrabble st one table, two couples playing darts round the corner, two grey-haired guitarists tuning up one evening, and lots of couples focussed intently on each other. Minor gripe that there’s not much fresh...
