Bruni's Restaurant

During our stay at Villa Howden, my partner and I enjoyed Bruni's on two occasions - for breakfast (included with our stay) and for dinner on Saturday night.The breakfast was a great way to start the day and a big step up on typical hotel buffet breakfasts. We had the pancakes with maple syrup and bacon (and my partner asked for eggs on top of that, I'm not sure about the combination, but she really enjoyed it!). I had the smoked salmon eggs benedict, which was well cooked and full of flavour. Tasty coffee and juices too!The dinner was excellent. Dinner while it was still daylight (daylight saving!) in a beautiful room, hushed and yet not oppressively so, with a beautiful outlook to the terrace and garden beyond - what a great evening. I give it full marks for atmosphere and ambience. This was assisted by the wonderful staff, who were attentive but not overwhelming or 'false'. The complimentary amuse bouche was excellent, as were our meals. Delicious pork, fish, scallops. The only negatives - the lamb came as cutlets and the fat was thick and inedilble. I recently attended a dinner function at Bruni's restaurant. I have dined here before and I was not disappointed at this event. The venue remains refined with a touch of glamour and the staff were welcoming and friendly. It is the food that continues to star at Bruni's. Our entire meal was delicious from petite caramelised onion tartlets to quail with a superb fresh pear and rocket salad with (house made) apple-balsamic dressing, the best grilled fillet steak (with truffle butter) I have eaten in a long time served with parsnip puree and garden fresh broccolini and baby carrots, followed by a trio of tiny tartlets as dessert. Had the privilege to have dinner here for Valentines this month.We were staying at the Villa and were lucky enough to snag a table. We were greeted with a glass of bubbly each, a rose and chocolates. The meal was one of the best we've had in a long time. The service was smooth and discrete and we were serenaded by a very talented singer and pianist. Was a really memorable meal. Highly recommend. See my review of Villa Howden (I spoke about the meals at this restaurant) but the service was 5 star and the food 5+ stars! So much flavour, and unlike being at many other restaurants, there is usually an appetiser or something you don't like - not here! Everything I tried was unbelievable! Be sure to leave room for dessert!

Villa Howden presented a wonderful and creative menu for a private function. The room was extremely well presented and beautifully prepared. Accolades to the chef and the wait staff. Food was wonderful and all people were served consistent meals in a very short time frame from a slick kitchen.

We ate here when staying at Villa Howden The staff are first class. ...almost old fashioned in the way on which they look after you The menu is limited but superb local produce well cooked and presented beautifully The bouche amusee was a nice touch I can thoroughly recommend

A Seafood chowder that has set the bar high for the following eye fillet and it did not disappoint. Cooked to perfection. Thanks to a top quality Tassie beef and served with superb professional and fun staff Reserva una mesa ahora

We stayed at Villa Howden for six nights and ate at Brunis restaurant four meals! Every meal was faultless and delicious! Staff were friendly, atmosphere was decadent and each experience was delightful!

The food is too good! having a wonderful meal in the evening, it is hard appreciate the enormous breakfast on offer the following morning.
