We have been eating here for about 18 months. The food service and hospitality of all the staff are second to none. We are a couple in our 50 and 60s that have brought family, children , and children of all ages to eat here After 20 years together, we decided to get married, contacted yana in February, and booked the private dining area downstairs. Over the months, we visited a lot. Basri became a constant support for our important day always friendly and nothing too much trouble. We had our reception 2 September this year it was everything we wanted and more. Thank you to everyone who helped our day be as special as we wanted. We were really pleased that we had made a booking for this great little cafe as people were being turned away all night…..always a good sign. With clever lightening, the ambiance turned from cafe to bistro with ease. We shared humous and halloumi to start with fabulous lava bread, a delicious start to the meal. With both chose chicken sheesh as our main course, my husband added lamb to his, again both really tasty and really generous portions. I was tempted in early evening. Plenty of diners, but also spaces, so go in on a walk up. Extensive menu I went for a baba ganoush,which was really tasty and served with a wonderful freshly cooked flatbread. Sadly they didn’t have any lamb left (they always sell out early evening the waiter told me there’s a solution to that) so I had a Chicken Iskender. This was a bit of a disappointment lacking in taste, flavour and love, it just turned into a rather large plate of food to get through. I should have gone for something off the grill, the shish looked good. I’ve heard good reports about this place, so perhaps it was just an off night. I’d still recommend it, if even just for the flatbreads
We wanted something quick and relatively healthy so went into Cafe Istanbul after seeing their lunchtime offers. We both got wraps, 1 lamb and 1 chicken and both came with fries. They came shortly after and looked quite substantial. They were really tasty and at £32 for the food and a couple of drinks wasn't too bad. I'd definitely go back.

The baba ghanoush and bread were decent, but the soup was bland and cold, and the chips were dry and flavorless, likely past their expiration date. When we raised our concerns, we were dismissed as it was deemed too late to address them. It is important to bring up any issues when they are discovered, not at the end of the meal.
This Turkish restaurant in the center of Manchester is fantastic. The atmosphere is superb, the service is excellent, and the food is top-notch. The staff were very welcoming and I can't wait to go back again soon.
A five-star lunch that truly encapsulates the flavors of Turkey. This superb meal for two offers quick service and incredible food. I highly recommend it as the best Turkish restaurant in Manchester.
Nice venue, stylish and comfortable. Great food, some of it prepared in the open kitchen. The service was fabulous, particularly Abdul, helpful and attentive without being in your face. Impressed.

I ate with my colleague here this evening and all I can say is that I was very, very pleased. The food and service were excellent and the price very reasonable indeed. I will be back!
I have been here several times over the years and it has never disappointed. The food, service and staff are excellent. Cafe Istanbul has to be up there with the best.
