An early start searching for cassowaries in the Daintree meant a long time between coffees. The surprise of the Daintree Is how many places dot the road, now mostly tarred through the jungle. Ions ago, roadside blocks were sold off and now houses and cafes and the occasional place to stay obscure your true experience. Supposed to have a breakfast but only had coffee. Service was very unfriendly with the girls having attitude of not wanting to serve customers in proper hospitality way. We had a gecko poo on our table where I was told to go to lady bathroom to have my tissue wet. Ended up being called 'bub'. It was a cold day and asked if they could turn the fan down, where I was told they were not sure. However, quite typical countryside cafe. Friendly when they want to and have attitude. Not many people are willing to work I suppose, so they don't care - have experienced the similar in outback areas. No way this kind of customer service is accepted in bigger city area. Looking for lunch I came upon Cafe on Sea about noon so thought I'd give it a shot. No one there, but the place filled up shortly afterwards, always a good sign. It looks like a fish and chip joint but it actually has quite...an extensive menu to choose from. I went for the Greek salad, which didn't really look all that Greek but tasted great, as was the coffee. It's kind of hard to rave too much about the place, hence I rated it a 3, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it someone looking for a casual lunch while in the forest. Great location for a walk on the beach.

This is a good place to stop to stretch your legs during a long drive. It's a simple no-frills place. There is parking and rest-rooms. We didn't try the food but got a couple of drinks. The service was friendly and fast. We ordered our drinks at the counter, they gave us a card with a number so they would know where we were sitting, and they brought us our drinks a few moments later. Cafe on Sea is located right on the edge of a beach and has lovely views of the ocean.

This place is in a gorgeous setting, plenty of shade, lovely views of the ocean, then a stroll on the beach after lunch. The food is average, not terrible but certainly not great. Would have liked to try one of their homemade pies but by 2pm they had sold out of them. Cold drinks and a nice setting almost make up for the food. But don't think about going for a swim. The coastline right there is a croc highway with 3 rivers feeding into the bay there.

We had a taster plate for 2 which was all fried food and a small salad. That being said it was delicious with spring rolls, some prawn rolls, chips, money bags. The view is lovely looking over a little island and lovely white sand beach.We thoroughly enjoyed our stop here.

Grest place to stop and admire the blue ocean and white sand. Get a cold drink and find some shade. You can get good food and coffee here.

A quaint cafe on the beach. Food was very good, selection adequate, reasonable prices. Service was outstanding.
