Positive thoughts came to mind initially; experience from a previous visit solidified my snap decision to dine at Bartons Monday night. Interesting ground this, close to 3 years between drinks. We were provided with a private dining room to celebrate two birthdays. The room was warm and comfortable; ample room to walk around and talk to people. The room easily seated 11 people. Air conditioning.If you sit in the main dinning area, during the day you would have a great view of Adelaide's Parklands. First time here for four of us, two others second visit. Two menu options but the table must have the same menu. First menu is a Tasting Menu. There are a choice of either 2 or 3 Savoury courses. The serves are "entrée size" with choices of vegetarian, meat, fowl and fish. Choose your 2 or 3 tastes and off you go. The amount of times I've driven past this place and not tried it is crazy, and finally came for a set menu Mother's Day lunch 2day ($55pp) and what a joyful experience indeed!
We ate in the Barton's Restaurant side and it isn't really special in decor- just a modern cosy dining area with a view of a lovely looking wine shelf at the end, but the service and food was just fabulous. Shout out to Danika our lovely server who was just wonderful the entire time. The food speaks volumes in flavour, presentation and portion sizes. Though was a set menu it is a smaller version of their actual menu so have to mention the Scallops and the Barramundi (simply delicious on all standards!) Value for money...
The restaurant area is on the pricier side but the meals are most certainly fine dining quality and taste, so I'd say well worth the price tag for a special occasion. The Boardroom dinner we all had was superb. The staff are so friendly and attentive and the venue is kept clean. In fact this is the third function I've attended here: one in the bar, one cocktail function outside, and one birthday dinner all over a 7 year period. Consistently great.
Poppy had breakfast at the Caledonian, it wasn't one to remember. Extremely simple and plain. Small serving of basic scrambled eggs, small portion of bacon, Aussie sausage, maccas hash brown, half a mushroom and tomato, some spinach and onion concoction with a slice of Tip Top White bread. Nothing exciting. Can't recommend, thumb down not worth an eat ????
Chose this restaurant for the location (close to the entertainment centre) and there was crumbed brie on the menu. Ended up being a brand new menu so no brie unfortunately but what an AWESOME night.A fantastic waitress backed by wonderful food. A really cosy yet comfortable atmosphere will certainly be going back.Loved it! love it! loved it!

Delightful spot in the outskirts of Adelaide. Food was absolutely to 'die for'. Smaller servings just perfect for lunch. Service was wonderful. Great time with family
