Carluccios Bury St Edmonds

I’m afraid we were a bit disappointed as rhe portion of pasta spinach balls definitely seemed smaller than usual despite the fact that new plates were blamed for giving the impression that the portion was smaller. The lasagna was not hot and had to be remade. The edges of the lasagna were very crispy and this is most unusual. Lasagna is usually made in a small dish so that the edges don’t get crispy and the whole dish is served up on another plate. The centre of the lasagna was rather dry and dense. I recently had the same dish at the Cambridge branch and it was much nicer and authentic.

My partner ordered a carbonara and quite frankly I my first thought was that it was a child's portion, barely covering to bottom of the dish. He did not want me to complain as we were going to the theatre and having already waited quite a while there was no time to ask for a fresh meal. He has had this dish many times before and said that the actual carbonara fell way below the usual standard.

We needed somewhere close to the Apex and remembered visiting Carluccio's several years ago. We received a warm, friendly welcome and we were served very quickly. The foccacia was delicious, the mushroom risotto tasty and the spaghetti carbonara generous. I enjoyed the chocolate bread and butter pudding but I'm sure it would have been better warm.

The home made lasagne tasted like a cheap packet meal without any flavour or seasoning. Very disappointed and to make it worse, I asked for some bread and was given two door stops of house bread that was cold, and charged £4 for it. Would not recommend or visit again. Reserva una mesa ahora

the staff was very friendly and we got on request another bigger table. eating was very good and we were served immediately. it was a very pleasant experience all around.

my favorite pata with spinach balls was terrible, the pasta was hard and dry on places and all cloged in the middle. it had been significantly recovered. so disappointed.

we had excellent.food, found the personal friendly, pleasant environment and so close to the Apex theatre, which is a great help for those who find difficult to foot.

The staff member was friendly and fun and the food was quick to appear. Very tasty food and we were lucky to sit outside on a beautiful evening. Excellent! Reserva una mesa ahora

Very good restaurant, tables were well spaced. The service was excellent as was the food delicious and well presented. Would definitely visit again.
