Vim de Lisboa para uma semana de férias. Um amigo do Algarve recomendou-me este restaurante. Gosto muito do seu ambiente. É muito limpo, como um hotel cinco estrelas. Em primeiro lugar, a equipa é muito educada, como se tivesse recebido formação profissional, e a comida é muito requintada e inovadora, como se tivesse sido cuidadosamente pensada e desenvolvida. Eu gosto muito disso. E este restaurante tem vinhos muito profissionais, incluindo champanhe francês, vinho do Porto e vinho português. This restaurant has reopened with a different food offering. If you like sharing plates like us this is absolutely worth a visit. The courtyard setting is lovely perfectly positioned for great sunsets. The service is excellent with lovely staff and knowledgeable sommelier. We ordered the sharing plates for starters and main course. Local ingredients with Portugese style. The chicken dish is excellent and the cod dish is well worth getting. For desert the arroz doce is so tasty. Prices reasonable. We will definitely be back .

This is not the same Casa Velha referred to in the Michelin Guide. We have been for a number of years and always loved the tasting menus and 5 star service from the staff. A new concept was introduced this year that does not include the tasting menu or the extensive wine list of its predecessor. Nothing wrong with the new menu which is interesting but not comparable to the creativity or execution of the ‘old’ Casa Velha. In our view Quinta do Lago removed a fine dining experience which was always a highlight of our trip.

We had a superb tasting menu at Casa Velha every course was delicious. The staff were friendly yet professional and ensured we had a great time on our visit for our anniversary meal. Amazing food, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Restaurant concept is for sharing food so best to order say 4 mains for 2 people and share. Tasty sauces in the meat dishes.
