Won’t be back. As regulars of the Catch it is with real disappointment that I am writing this review. We regularly go with both friends and family but Sunday the 9th April was our last visit. We had purchased vouchers via Itison, a great deal but unfortunately in error had redeemed 2 £60 vouchers instead of a £60 and a £30. We asked for one voucher to be cancelled as we knew that we wouldn’t spend that much. The manager said she would try her best to get it sorted for us, the waiter then told us not to worry, even if it couldn’t be cancelled something would be sorted out for us. I few bad reviews but this was not our experience. Visiting the University with my daughter we popped in here for lunch just by chance. I joked about finding vegan fish and chips earlier in the day. Surprised to find it here. They have other vegan options as well. The vegan fish and chips was fantastic. Not sure the makeup but it was NOT a hunk of tofu. More a seitan or pea protein type fish. I should have asked. It was great, the price was right. I can't comment on the mushy peas because I hate peas and did not eat them. Chips could have been a bit crispier, but dipped in the vegan tarter, they were good too. Daughter had the regular fish and chips and she enjoyed that and was happy it did...
Cracking eatery, lovely food great service ! Well worth a visit! Only problem was the stairs, when i visited a small child slipped on the stairs, then I did the same and fell down, im pretty sureties isn't an isolated incident, maybe a waring as you enter the restaurant would make folk aware of the danger! The main hazards is there is no handrail, just a rope, then the the stairs have metal anti-scuff plates, maybe a good idea to rectify...
Was attracted by the gluten free menu but it really was distinctly average. Ordered gluten free fish and chips to sit in but poor portion sizes (small and thin fillets of fish and small cup of chips) and definitely overpriced. Service was good but won’t rush back.

Went with family and we mostly all ordered fish and chips! Disappointed isn’t the word. I literally feel like all I ate was batter and the fish was nowhere to be seen. Will never be going back here, nor would I recommend!
Best batter I’ve ever had.good service, nice atmosphere, overall spot on. Highly recommend this place. Prices were very reasonable too. £25 for a couple of plates of fish and chips.
Amazing food, really tasty! Got the mac and cheese loaded fries and king prawn tacos! Girl that served us was her first day and she was fab!
I paid £7 for a tiny chicken burger that didn't even come with chips and which was literally pink and rubbery inside. Very disappointing

Great tasty fish and chips,good portions and fish perfectly cooked. Visited 31 October . The young guy who served did a great job also.
Great place for a really good fish supper, reasonably priced and dog friendly! Also has a decent selection of wine
