El Centro has become our favorite restaurant. We love that they clearly mark which menu items are vegan or vegetarian. The servers are knowledgeable and you don't have to ask for substitutions, just let them know you want the vegan version. We can't understand why one reviewer didn't like the nachos because we (2 adults, 2 teens) find them to be fantastic. The vegan cheese, sauce, and seasoning on the cauliflower make them delicious and they are a generous portion. We also enjoy their bowls, even though I usually don't like sweet potato in savory dishes, they get the ratio just right. We found Centro through Evening and were thrilled to see they had vegan options. We were super excited to visit and they did not disappoint! We love, love, love their food we tried almost every vegan item on the menu amazing cauliflower nachos, tacos that are off the hook, and their 157 burrito vegan style that is incredibly craveable! Their salsas are delish and all of the ingredients used are fresh and top notch, bursting with flavor. This is a new regular spot for our entire family. Thank you, Enrique, for bringing such a wonderful restaurant to our community! We'd give you 5 stars but the Happy Cow system doesn't provide the option. Heck, we give Centro 10 stars!!
I was disappointed to find that the nachos at this restaurant were topped with Daiya cheese instead of homemade cashew cheese, especially considering the $17 price tag. The chips themselves were tasty, but overall I felt like I could have easily made a similar dish at home. The enchiladas we tried were decent, but not memorable enough for me to order them again. The vegan options mostly consisted of dishes where the only modification was removing cheese and adding cauliflower, with limited variety beyond that. I was surprised that this place had received praise for their vegan offerings, as I found the options lacking in creativity and diversity.
New Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood that has vegan options clearly labeled. I ordered 1 taco and the nachos. The taco I ordered was good—I would like to try the other. The nacho chips were a little too salty and I wasn’t a fan of the taste of the cauliflower. I would like to come back and try other items on the menu. Visited again on 4/7/2022 and it was FAR better from when I visited in 2020 when it was open for a short time. I ordered the Brussel sprouts, quesadilla, and black bean and sweet potato taco. I would give this place 5 starts if I could! The vegan options are absolutely amazing such amazing flavors very intentional and thoughtful dishes. Everything was delicious! Incredibly delicious!! We had the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Poblano Enchiladas and Sweet Potato Black Bean taco. Incredibly delicious!! Great service, great atmosphere and interior design, and amazing food. Must try! Our new regular spot!! Also it did not feel pricey at all based on the quality of food and thoughtful flavors you get!
