Chatka Family Restaurant

Walking into the restaurant felt like walking into a church kitchen or someone’s home. Plain but very clean. Several local families were having supper and were warmly greeted by the young lady at the till. Menus are on the table under glass. Grab a table,...choose your meal then back to the till to order. When your food is ready, back to the table beside the till to pick it up. Not sure if this is normal or due to COVID. A few things on the menu were sold out, again not sure if due to COVID or if this happens on a regular basis. Our family of 6 had such a wonderful experience at Chatka's recently; everything from the friendly staff (and presumably the owner) to the awesome homemade food. They were very attentive to the infant eating with us and they made us feel right at home. The food was served promptly and everything from our appetizers to entrees were healthy portions of high quality food. On top of the excellent service the food we tried was something I highly recommend to anyone travelling through Creston. Well worth the stop!

As an Eastern European descendant I like to try other people's pierogies and cabbage rolls. This place has got the touch. The pierogies were so tender and the potato cheese filling was perfect. It tasted just like the filling my parents made. The cabbage roll had a wonderful flavourful too, though I like rice only rolls. It was absolutely amazing food. The restaurant was exceptionally clean, just like baba kept her house. Please stop here. You will have a nice ethnic food experience.

Each time we travel from Alberta to BC, regardless of final destination, we plan our trip to ensure we have either lunch or dinner at Chatka. We love it! Their food is as authentic as you can get it, the service great and the banter...and easy conversation along with the great packaging of take home items is much appreciated. It is a family friendly restaurant that is locally owned and operated. The food (I did not sample the Polish dishes) was disappointing in flavour, almost bland but with a hint of canned gravy' kind-of-taste in (hard to describe) of all the parts of...my dinner. Service was quick, the meal arrived in short-order and the room was bright and cheerful. My own home cooked meals are better than what i got here.

Wow! Top little spot.... food was fresh and incredibly delicious! We ordered the “white soup” (was recommended) and it truly didn’t disappoint! The cabbage rolls were our main reason for our visit ..... wow.... they met my expectations! Thank you for fixing my craving. My...next visit back to Creston from Australia will see me in attendance! Thank you

Really disappointed waited to go here amd showed up and they said they close the grills and would not be able to serve is as they close at but the door and the website say I could get over that but they...just sat a couple seconds before us. to bad as we r Ultanian and were looking forward to it. Maybe we had the wrong look.

Authentic Polish cuisine. Good variety of tea but no booze. Restaurant sometimes unexpectedly closed when you go there to eat. Generous servings of delicious food..

Slow cooking of food is worth waiting for. Can't go wrong no matter what you order. Clean, cheery, bright atmosphere Service is prompt and courteous

Very clean, friendly staff,hunters stew was awesome, excellent pierogi. Reasonable prices, we will be back!
