Fantastic every time. continue to frequent chiang mai for every reason.....menu options, quality of ingredients, preparation, authentic flavor, value, ambiance, service.....all exceed any other thai restaurant within 50 miles. linen tablecloths and napkins, fresh flowers at every table and their desire to please .....sets chiang apart. other patrons comment all the time..... this is the best thai ever . the word is spreading and the list of regulars from near and far continues to grow......for all the right reasons.
This is a fantastic spot for Thai cuisine in the Bloomfield and Windsor area. The food is exceptional, and the portion sizes are generous. The service has a warm, homey feel. I sampled the soups, green curry, and basil fried rice, and as an Indian, I appreciated the spice levels in the dishes. The chicken and vegetables were incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. There are plenty of vegetable options for those who prefer plant-based meals.
It's unfortunate. I stopped by today to bring him some Pho, which we really needed for our colds, thanks to two mischievous grandchildren. I was disappointed to find that Chiang Mai had closed. The windows were covered with paper, and there were notices stating that they would be reopening soon under new management with a new name: Bangkok Bistro Bloomfield. It's a shame; we really enjoyed Chiang Mai.
Wow! I typically go for Tom Kha Gai, but the young lady recommended the red curry soup, and it's fantastic! It's packed with fresh vegetables and has just the right amount of spice—not too hot at all. If you prefer something spicier, I suggest asking for extra chilies. Enjoy!

We have a great experience every time we visit this restaurant. Everything is delicious, from the soup to the delightful little salad and spring roll that accompany the lunch entree. We've returned five times since our initial visit.
This is a true hidden gem in Bloomfield. The service and food here make your experience memorable and makes you want to visit again. Yellow curry is hands down my favorite!

Unfortunately, they have closed. The new owners are expected to be up and running before the end of winter 2018.
