Two of us really enjoyed our dinner, two of us thought it was just OK. I had the ravioli with walnut cream sauce. It just didn't have enough flavor, needed garlic. I can't remember the dishes everyone else got. I think one was the veal special, the person who ordered that, liked it a lot The bread for the table, which was like sliced sourdough, should be more rustic to go with the pesto dipping sauce they provide with it. The bread provided, I feel, would be better paired with butter. My cocktail was good They have a lot of seating outdoor but our waiter I think was the only one working the whole restaurant. He was working very hard. We weren't in a rush which made it OK but dinner took long...
My husband ordered the pasta Carbonara, ate every morsel and thought it was delicious. I had the daily special of Sea Bass. The fish was cooked perfectly. The polenta as a side was fine but the flavor of the tomato ragout was too powerful for the delicate flavor of the fish. Service was exemplary. As for prices, the pasta was priced reasonably but the sea bass was very pricey.
This was our first time to eat at Chianti's and we were very impressed! My husband is a Celiac and must eat gluten-free. They were very accommodating and his steak was delicious. I had the clam and mussel pasta and it was also very good. The only drawback is how loud it is in the restaurant but we will be back!
Excellent food and service during our visit. We hadn't dined at this point for several years. Based on dinner options, we decided to try Chianti's. It was an excellent choice and would recommend it as a good choice. Not expensive, but worth the money from our perspective.

Cute place, friendly efficient staff, decent wine and large portions- sadly of poor food. Unfortunately the marinara was bland for my taste -red sauce had NO herbs, pork sauce tasted like canned mccormick sweet, gooey like thick syrup) scallops were chewy and cold.
Food was a bit better than a diner. Overpriced and service staff were overwhelmed. Someone needs to tell the server who was yelling out orders that volume does not equal quality. Would not recommend. There are much better Italian restaurants.
Overall, the service was ok not excellent. The food was overpriced for what you get. The sea bass was tiny on the plate and plate looked so empty. Overall it’s nothing major to talk about but a nice restaurant in downtown pleasanton.
We took friends here for their first time. They loved it, as we knew they would. Food, wine, service and friendliness of Leonardo, Johnnie and all the staff was, as always, excellent. A gem in Pleasanton.

Lovely and quaint! Great food and high attention service! Ive been there twice and the owner Michael Angelo remember me and my family and even what we ordered before! Love this local business!
Absolutely recommend this restaurant and the staff were stellar.
