When we just want to be comfy and have a nicely served meal, we think of Citrus Cafe. It is 'local ' and kind of unique in that they have a private dining room, a bustling breakfast and lunch crowd and a steady, if lighter dinner crowd and booths where you can feel cozy and actually hear one another better. This gives us a safety net when needing a quick go-to for dinner! Fun for a foursome on a date night. Not pretentious, but they 're serious about their food and their servers are typically warm, friendly, capable and most helpful! I had been to Citrus Cafe a few times and enjoyed it, but I am sorry to say this time was a disappointment. I ordered the Spinach and Chicken salad which included apples, however they were not fresh and crispy as expected in a salad, but like the filling of an apple pie: cooked, spiced and sweetened, in large, soft pieces. When combined with the mustard dressing it gave the salad an unpleasant flavor. The rest of my party had sandwiches, one a French Dip which he said was OK, the others had a pastrami Reuben and a chicken club, neither finished. Our server was efficient, but not very congenial.
Nothing was great but nothing was bad. Serving sizes are generous. I had the recommended meatloaf and I like my mother's recipe better. Service was brusk but not quite rude; competent, so it didn't bother. It was perfect ambiance for the situation; a family gathering after a memorial service where the company was more important than the dining experience. The ambiance was perfect for relaxing and talking. If visiting is the focus, I would recommend; if the dining experience is the focus, I might look elsewhere.
great service, eating and atmosphere. our waitress was great. we went on Saturday morning. minimum waiting. seats in free and sufficient parking spaces. corn bark hash was excellent. well out of the way place in a not so cloged area.

We come here often for breakfast. The menu is great, food is well prepared and generous. There is rarely a wait, yet it's always pretty busy. We can sit outside with the dogs which we do most of the time. Always excellent service!
