Clarinda's - Reservar una mesa

After well over a year Clarinda’s has reopened. We have peered anxiously through the windows so many times during lockdown, but it has returned unscathed. It looks exactly the same, but I believe it has actually been repainted. The welcome and teashop ambience are perfect....And the baking! Other places go for eye catching, and the taste disappoints. Clarinda’s is lower key, but the focus is on the taste. As the lady on the next table spontaneously remarked “that was the best scone I ever tasted”. Weekends only at the moment.

Went for lunch and boy was it fresh and tasty. Soup and sandwich was really really good. Super selection of home baking and a fair decent slice of cake with great coffee. Don’t usually drink two mugs but it was so good with my cake...I just had to have another. Great service from welcoming staff and the ambiance is old tearoom style which is very nice and homely. Definitely be going there when visiting Edinburgh again.

Quaint little tearoom with traditional cups and saucers and decor which just adds to the charm. We had the cream tea with scones just out of the oven which were a true delight, so crumbly just melted in the mouth! Priced very reasonably, we paid...£11 for 2 cream teas with a pot of tea with 5/6 cups in. Staff very friendly and efficient too!

when we rarely visit clarindas in edinburgh. excellent cream tea and beautiful lunch. such a cost space in the lively royal mile

I'm here for a tee and I stayed at lunch. very picturesque and pleasant. good gluten-free options also.
