Dropped in for coffee and food with family today (Sunday Jan 22). Yes it is tourist season (we are one of many) and service, from someone taking your order quickly (fail) with a smile (fail) to getting your coffee to you in a reasonable amount of time (we were told there'd be a 20 min wait but it was about 35 mins) was not good enough. Why such a wait??? You get one chance to impress and this place failed spectacularly. So we won't be back when we next hit Caloundra next January for holidays...if this place is still going! Never fails to amaze me someone who puts it all on the line to open a place like this is then not around to manage staff and ensure customers have an enjoyable experience....
This restaurant is a wonderful location with fantastic views over Kings Beach and the Thursday evening Tapas for $10 sharing plate is a great way to meet friends. The food is very good with a nice menu selection for all tastes - vegetarian & meat lovers. The serves are generous with enough for four to share. The drinks are reasonably priced but the service for drinks was very slow since the staff have to make and serve cocktails as well. If these were not included for the Thursday night menu, the staff would not have been so busy as to fail to deliver the ordered drinks for customers who had to go back to the counter to ask for their drinks. My husband and I have a habit of going to different places and always ordering a steak sandwich to share with a drink. Today, we visited Cptn and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant overlooks the beautiful Kings Beach with a lovely breeze blowing. The service was friendly and accommodating, they didn't mind us sharing. We didn't have to wait long for our order and enjoyed sitting outside with the view. The meal was delicious and portion sizes were generous, we were grateful we were sharing. The drinks were cold and refreshing. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and will definitely be returning.
We have been to this restaurant several times with friends and have always had a positive experience. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and they have a great selection of drinks. The views are also a plus. Our most recent visit was on a Sunday afternoon for drinks with friends accompanied by live music. It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday!

We went there for the first time (it is under new Ownership) for an 80th Birthday one evening. It is in a great position on Kings Beach and the food was original and enjoyable. The Staff were unobtrusive and efficient. Worked well for a group of about 40. Would like to go there again.
A relaxed coffee shop with great staff and above all they stay open till there advertised closing time.. not like the Delish Fish (fish and chip shop) next to them that make up ther own closing times. All the power to you and your owner, doing a great job..Regards Dan
Stayed at kings Beach recently and enjoyed several coffee from this venue. Usually we grabbed a coffee to go and strolled the boardwalk enjoying the beautiful views. Do try Cptn at Kings Beach.
Last minute decision, very hungry beer and tapas . Nice flavours over many different tapas , pork balls was my favourite aswell as the local mooloolaba grilled prawns .

The food is great and the staff is friendly and efficient. I have dined there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on several occasions and have always been satisfied.
