It is disappointing that this bakery has chosen to employ a manager whose behavior is consistently unprofessional and disrespectful. This morning, I reached my limit. From a distance, I witnessed the manager treating a long-standing customer with blatant discourtesy over what appeared to be a simple misunderstanding. As a manager, it is her responsibility to handle such situations professionally and work towards an amicable resolution, yet she failed to do so. Delicious strawberry cake and slightly sweet but rich cheesecake are sufficient desserts after lunch. The coffee was a bit disappointing, but the window table and wooden chairs on the second floor were comfortable to sit in for an hour. The fresh food was great. Didn't feel displaced or rushed or judge like some of the other places in Roslyn. Meaning the looks I get when there is someone that doesn't look like the majority of clients in the establishment. However, at Diane's, I felt comfortable. This review is solely based on the pies/tarts which are the only things I’ve tried from Diane’s and they are AMAZING. Our friend (a local) visits us often in CT and he always brings us a Diane’s pie/tart! My favorite so far has been anything Peach, the Pear almond tart, and the Triple Berry pie. The atmosphere and food are mostly good. However the latte and Cappuccino needs a lot improvement. Probably a mix of 80% Arabica and 20% Rubasto. Do not wash the Porto filters ,since it takes away the coffee taste. One of the few places I can find Banoffee pie in long island. It was ok but it needed more caramel and the crust wasn’t packed at all. A loose graham cracker dusting more so on the bottom.
