While the setting is nice and the staff is always friendly, the food is very much just meh It can be very greasy and not super flavorful. We got the brusselsprouts and they were supposed to be crispy but were really just half cooked. Similar experiences multiple times with multiple menu dishes just being okay. Nothing awful but nothing great. We got a chocolate lava cake that was the least chocolatey version I 've ever had. Their drinks are decent and the happy hour (5 to 6) prices can be a good deal if you see spnething you like.
Very nice place, a cosy room with a large bar and a mezzanine, plenty of different layouts for eating or drinking. Nice menu with Mexican-style tapas, wines, cocktails. Great service. Only caveat which is embarrassing for a restaurant: we found the food to be very meh. Ingredients are not high-quality (terrible prawns), and recipes are not very subtle. We could come back for a drink and a quick bite, not for a good meal.
I felt bad for the waitresses; the regular customers were quite rude, either trying to flirt with them or making unreasonable demands. The atmosphere in this bar is peculiar. I only visit about once a year, but I'm often discouraged by the clientele and the overall sports bar vibe.
The interior of the restaurant was very cold and the Happy Hour food was only warm when it was served. It took over 30 minutes to receive our first tapas, despite arriving at 5 pm. I have had better experiences at this restaurant in the past.

I absolutely love Fonda! We go there for dinner every other Sunday and keep returning. The food is incredibly delicious, and we always have a wonderful experience. The waitstaff are incredibly accommodating and friendly. Enjoy your visit!
The food and drinks are great happy hour is a nice deal (and runs both early and late). Most importantly, you can actually have a discussion because of the moderate noise level.
This has been one of our favorite places to eat in the Bay Area for years. Delicious and inventive food, great cocktails, wonderful ambiance.
I keep returning to Fonda's. It’s the top spot on Solano for a great atmosphere and delicious drinks.

I typically eat at their bar. The bar manager is the bartender. Quite a mixologist.
