Coffee Roaster, Frank Andrews is the owner of Frankie’s Beans and opened the cafe in February 2017. Frankie’s Beans operates both as a cafe and specialty roaster and supplies coffee to several cafes across Sydney. They also invented the ‘Komboffee’ the love child of cold brewed coffee and kombucha (pictured). Served chilled and on ice, it’s the perfect way to get your caffeine fix in summer. The coffee machine – a white Sanremo Opera – looks like something out of the Thunderbirds. The logo has been burned into the custom-finished wood front. It’s the centerpiece of this stylish café newcomer, as it should be – Frankie’s Beans Specialty Coffee Roasters are serious about coffee. Perched on the side of The Elan the café makes good use of an oddly-shaped space. The well-lit barista and kitchen area is nicely framed using a white ceiling a row of spotlights. Walking up William St towards the Kings X coke sign, a landmark that defines the area, we cross the road and veer to the right as we are headed for our destination, Frankie’s Beans. Being in the Cross, the name could mean anything, thankfully for us it refers to coffee. With two highly rated cafes on the bean hunter App, ‘Frankie’s Beans’ and ‘cafe with out a name’, we had to check this place out.
