First of all, The servers were really in the weeds and seemed to be really understaffed. I understand that it gets busy, and things get delayed. So disappointed with the food here. First I'll say I made a reservation for a table for 6 to celebrate my husbands birthday. The ambience was nice and we were seated right away but there were so many flies. It was annoying constantly trying to keep them from our food and table. The service was 5 star, our servers were lovely and made my husbands birthday special with a candle in his creme brûlée... now the food... First the valet was completely overwhelmed 30 minutes to take our cars). There were flies/ gnats in our drinks/ all over the place... really disappointed.. looked forward to finally going here and it was a real letdown... I got the French onion soup and the salmon.. Soup was absolutely terrible they used a tiny amount of parm cheese in it, like 10 shreds with very few onions, the lobster bisque I'm told was good.. Salads were absolutely terrible bagged salad with a few shaved beets.. fish was over cooked, small and had the tiniest serving of mashed potatoes I've ever seen... portions are extremely small... We called ahead to see what time kitchen closed on a Saturday and was told nine pm. We arrived at 8.20 only to be turned away. We then walked thirty feet north and had a great dinner at Di Soto been there many times) First and last time we will try Froggies. Staff, real easy fix. GET YOUR STORIES STRAIGHT! Even in someone walks in a tad late be accomodating. Believe me from the lack of patrons in the place you are not in a position to be selective

The nicest couple run this place with wonderful food. I have never been dissatisfied. It's simply one of the best places around for great Mexican food.
A classic North Shore fixture in Highwood. This restaurant has been doing it all and very well for decades. I highly recommend.
