Gourmet House - Reserva de mesa

We loved this place! It definitely is a bit of a retro throwback decor wise but all the nicer for it! The lunchtime buffet on a Thursday was superb- loads of dishes- all hot and fresh and they replenished them as well. I was impressed to see shredded duck and pancakes on a lunchtime deal plus soups and loads of dishes. Delicious beef in black bean sauce, lovely tempura, different rice and three types of noodle dishes includin chicken chow mein. Old school yes but tasty and delicious. Funny when my other half picked up something thinking it was a chicken gougon and it was chicken gizzards- let's just say he didn't try it! The desserts were good too with an ice cream machine plus sauces, loads...

We went as the reviews were amazing. I rang to book a table and the customer service was shocking. Whilst we were there a staff member was stood up falling asleep. The food was awful, we had one plate each and some ice cream. The prawn toast tasted like chicken and the duck was vile and dry. As soon as we left I vomited, it made me and my boyfriend very ill. I rang to complain and was passed round to 3 different people. I was refused a refund and asked to provide my medical records to confirm it was food poisoning. After complaining for the third time, I was advised a manager would call me back and never. I don’t understand the reviews, the food and customer service was vile.

4 of us ate at the Gourmet House restaurant on Thursday afternoon I can't understand the negative reviews. All the staff were very friendly attentive, the plates were hot so u needed a napkin to carry them which is exactly how it should be all the food was served at the correct temperature. We all enjoyed the food including the variety of puddings. We will certainly be back at the Gourmet House next time we're in Southport thank u once again for the positive experience.

I was greeted with a rude "cash only" welcome at this restaurant. The service was extremely poor - we waited so long for our drinks order that we ended up starting on the buffet, which was a bit confusing. It appeared that there were only two staff members working, one of whom seemed barely awake. It's a shame, but I don't feel comfortable recommending this place at all. Reserva una mesa ahora

I have been to this Chinese restaurant twice and both times we left with upset stomachs. I didn't think it was the food the first time, but after visiting on Saturday, we have decided not to go back again. Apologies.

The restaurant has a very laid-back ambiance. The food and service are both satisfactory. It is a typical Chinese buffet located in the town center, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth the price.

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PLACE USE TO BE GREAT. NOW FOOD IS COLD NOT MUCH IN PANS NOT FRESH. TO BE HONETST IT WAS HORRIBLE WILL NOT BE RETURNING HERE NOT GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY.

When I first went the food was average. Now there is a sign on the door saying you have to now pay before eating. And Cash only! I will not bother to return!

Food was awful and not worth money. Had to eventually go to bar and ask for our drinks order to be taken. Wont be back.
