After some days in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and then Anderson and Clemson, South Carolina, where we encountered some of the most unpalatable food imaginable, it was such a pleasure to find Great Wall Chinese restaurant in Birmingham. It has been voted the best Chinese restaurant in Alabama, and with good reason. The food is real, authentic, and tasty. We had lamb with green chili, stir-fried rice cake with Napa cabbage, and braised dried bean curd sticks with black mushroom and tofu (all pictured below). Every dish was delicious, as were the pot stickers with which we began, and the amounts were so generous that we have a second take-out meal for tomorrow. Service was friendly, courteous, and pr...

Few things excite me more than the Great Wall introducing new dishes! I brought a friend along to sample the Hunan-style spicy liver and the Chongqing Hotpot, in addition to our trusted favorite, the mustard fish fillet. The liver is bursting with flavor thanks to the black bean sauce, beautifully accentuated by the Szechuan pepper—it's incredible! The Chongqing Hotpot feels like a delightful farmhouse feast, with fresh and flavorful blood curds, tender bits of fatty intestine, fish fillet, and delightfully chewy beef tripe, all resting on a bed of soybean sprouts—absolutely delicious! As for the mustard fish fillet, it’s just as fantastic as we always believed it would be, reaffirming Great...

This place was a surprise. Red Pearl at Homewood is my default go to Chinese restaurant forever. But decided to try out Great Wall Chinese Restaurant; I have been hearing good reviews on authentic food for sometime now. It didn’t disappoint. We triedGarlic chicken, juicy dumplings and chef’s special flaming pan chicken with vegetables. They all were super good, taste wasauthentic and portion was generous. Price wise, I felt was it was tad bit pricer compared to other Chinese restaurant aroundit. On the positive side, they offer good authentic food, plenty of seating arrangements, minimal wait time and quick service, ample parking spots, centrally located, open late till 10 pm. Will definitely...

I had a call in order, they said 15 min.... I went to pick it up and still had to wait, It took them 35 min to cook my food. They werent even busy, it was just me and another customer in there. They forgot to give me my rice that went with the meal so I had to go back in to get it. They food was so nasty. The shrimp was mushy overcooked. The broccoli was so hard undercooked, the sauce was disgusting, omg!! I couldnt even eat it. The only thing that was good was the egg drop soup. A complete waste of money!!! This will be my first and LAST time eating here!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! Reserva una mesa ahora

I haven't visited the restaurant in many years. I went for lunch with a friend, and we both enjoyed our selections. We both had hot and sour soup, and it was definitely served hot. It could've used a touch more vinegar, however. My friend than had a pork sandwich, and it suited him perfectly. I had Szechuan Chicken with Fried Rice. It was tasty, but not as spicy as advertised on the menu. I'll return, but will ask for more spice. The portion was generous and inexpensive.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicapped parking slots, curb cuts, doors open easily.

They shorted me a penny. I didn't catch it until I got home. But if you think about it that adds up over time. they're wrong for stealing people's money. Food is yummy service is good. But it doesn't matter how much or little it is, it's mine. theystole it. It makes me feel unappreciated disrespected. I take my earned money support they're business that supports they'refamilies. they do this. I've honestly wondered if I'll go back. IF I do. I'll pay with a card

Im from New Orleans so flavor is important. I have dined in many Chinese restaurant in various cities but i was not impressed by the taste of the food. Service was fabulous and decor very beautiful but the food didn't have the taste i expected for theoverall experience. I didn't like sauce at all. Prices were great!

This restaurant has significantly improved in quality, which seems to indicate a change in the kitchen. The service is good, and the food is even better. If you haven't tried it yet and enjoy spicy food, you must order the spicy fried chicken. It has to be one of the most refined dishes in Birmingham. Reserva una mesa ahora
