My husband and I love their gyros platter. Huge portions. I asked for their yummy lemon potatoes instead of fries and they gave it to me. Been here 3 times since moving back to Long Island from Maryland. My husband never tasted awesome gyros like GreekIsland. We like it here, I was reading some reviews, the owners are hard working men, they do everything, I mean cut them abreak. We usually get them to smile but I get it, their tired, hot, and running all over. I got them some slack. I do agreethough that instead of news on TV play some Greek music. Change the atmosphere to more upbeat. My only criticism but not acomplaint because we love the food here.
I was expecting Greek Food from the name of the place but the food and prices are similar to another diner located a block away. I went here on a Monday night around 8 pm and there were plenty of empty tables. The service was ok, two men were serving and doing everything else without a smile is possibly one negative about the place. I Would go here again when I am in a mood for Diner food especially because the other diner in the neighborhood is usually crowded at times.The restaurant table area and the bathrooms were clean.
Called to find out what the gyro platter included and was told meat, rice, pita and 2 sides. I ordered 1 to be delivered...was told about an hour for delivery...took over 1 1/2 hrs! No rice and the 2 greek salads as sides were in the same tin. Some of themeat was charred and could not eat it. Not a great portion size and no rice! When I called to tell them, the girl said itdidn't come with rice! Was not impressed and would not order from them again!!
I love greek food ive been to Greece, i order it when i go Bayside queens all the time, my best friends greek also. Today Order moussaka and Spanakopita as an appetizer.. wife order stuffed eggplant.. both were made of frozen spinach. Absolutely disgustingworst Greek food I ever had.. My kid had a kidz pizza and he didnt like it either..

Greek Islands Restaurant in Holbrook is authentic Greek cuisine!! The food is fresh, homemade and very delicious. The falafels were tender, fresh and tasty. The homemade hummus is excellent!! Don’t miss out… go to Greek islands restaurant for your next meal :
The food is good but the blond girl that takes your order not pleasant at all, actually quite snotty and rude. I won’t go back there again.
