Disappointing. This place use to be great years ago, now it has gone down hill.
The staff were great, attentive and friendly. The bread and dips were very nice, and the zucchini balls were good the next day once heated - they came to the table a mix of barely warm and cold.
The mains were very disappointing. First off, one main was brought to the table. It then took 10 minutes for all but one of the remaining mains to be served, and another 10 minutes for the last main to come.
The mains were just plain white rice, a sad handful of salad and a couple of pieces of meat. For the price you would expect some spices added to the rice - even a more traditional rice, more meat and better salad....
After one year of living in Turkey, not a lot of places are able to satisfy me when it comes to food. This one did. Everything is on time, vaiters are very friendly and professional. Food taste very fresh, delicious and authentic. Bread is fresh and tasty, all the dips are great, chicken is tender and full of flavours. We had also proper Turkish coffee made in cezve- all great. Place doesn't look very fancy but you feel cozy and welcome. We will come again as I want to try also their home made baklava ;) Good luck Harem restaurant, you are doing a good job.
I rang Harem last Tuesday as I had booked lunch for 20 people for Saturday, but the Tuesday before they rang to say the restaurant had closed. In a panic I researched and found Harem. They could not have been more accommodating. We had the lunch banquet, the food is absolutely delicious, everyone enjoyed ever dish, they have quite a good wine list, lovely tea and coffee and kindly provided plates for us to enjoy birthday cake. Staff were welcoming, engaging and efficient.
This is a great little restaurant in Kingston ACT. We had as entre pide with cheese,Home made and delicious, then barbecue prawns with rice and salad, the prawns have a marinade of lemon. Origano sumac and oil. Yum yum, perfect, we did not have room for desert but they all looked great. Wine list plenty of choise and not too expensive.Would highly recommend this restaurant for whatever occasion you choose.

I went here with my housemates and it was delightful. One of my housemates is vegan and they let us do the mini banquet (definitely recommend this!) all together and altered her meals, they were very accomodating. The decor is also stunning, you feel as though you are in Turkey. My housemates were raving about it for days to come!
Slow service, wine plonked on table with screw cap still on. Oily food, cauliflower was battered and deep fried - horrible.I couldn't eat the food it was so poor.My wife and daughter picked on it but also could not finish a dish.Would not recommend or ever return.
A good casual night out with friendly staff, plentiful good food and BYO too. If you want a quiet night with a nice low key atmosphere then come here. Wish we lived local as this would become a regular for us!! See you next time we're here!!
Food was good. Wait staff were friendly and informative. Service was a little slow but nothing major.
There was almost a homely feel to it.

Easily the best food I've ever eaten in Canberra, and the staff are absolutely lovely as well. Strongly recommend.
