This restaurant is a fantastic spot to relax and take in the view. The Heron was cozy and inviting on a chilly December afternoon. We loved the roaring fireplace and the friendly staff, who humorously told us that it never snows in Cornwall... the day before a snowstorm hit. While we didn't have a full meal here, we enjoyed a few drinks and some delicious cheesy chips, all of which were tasty. We would have liked to sit outside on the beautiful terrace overlooking the river if it had been a bit warmer, but we'll save that for our next visit to Truro.
The view from the out-front seating is worth it on its own. Didn't eat but did peruse the menu which had a little bit of everything medium priced. Tucked away in the small picturesque village of Malpas just outside Truro on the Truro River the pub itself has been well decorated. Parking was a little limited on our visit due to its popularity. Wouldn't hesitate to return. Service: 5
