I was very impressed with this casino. I grew up in Vegas so my standard for a casino is very high and I have to say Hollywood did not disappoint. The only part I would like to see some improvement on was the restraunts or food offerings in general. The Chinese food place on the property looked great from the outside bit the meat that they served in multiple dishes was absolutely sub-par and in my opinion not fit for human consumption.My only other problem with the casino was more of a state thing than the actual casino so I can't hold it against them but they are not allowed to comp your drinks no matter how much you play which is a hard thing to get used to if you have been comped in the p...
This place is awesome if you are planning on attending a show the amphitheater. We stayed just 1 night, check in was fast and simple about 3 hours before the show started. We ate dinner before heading over to the show in one of the many restaurants available. Then, we hopped on the shuttle bus and they dropped us right off at the front gate and picked us up after the show in the same spot. Less than 5 minute travel time and made it so worth it. The rooms were nice, but could be a little cleaner. No doubt, would stay here again. Best experience with the shuttles they make going to a show and staying overnight absolutely worth the trip.
My family booked a Rodeo Suite for me at the Hollywood Casino Hotel as a special surprise for my Birthday and it was AMAZING!! The rooms in the suite were spacious, clean and luxurious and it was large enough to accommodate all of my guests comfortably as we celebrated.Once everyone left for the evening I took some time to relax in their massive jacuzzi while listening to some nice relaxing music. And afterwards I climbed into bed for a nice, long sleep. This was one day that I will never forget and I will DEFINITELY be returning for another stay sometime soon!! ?
The service definitely needs work. Apparently you can't get a late checkout unless you wake up at 6:00 a.m. and talk to the manager on day shift. If you're trying to get a late check out, you're probably not planning on being up at 6:00 a.m. so if you need late check out make sure to let them know days in advance.Rooms: The rooms are pretty nice inside but the views are terrible. I went to go play poker. I was told the shirt I was wearing was offending other patrons. I should have taken my money and went to another establishment in town. This is a shame because I had enjoyed gambling there since casinos opened at that location. I truly believe that someone spending more money than I was didn't like what my shirt said, they complained, and money talks. I think I will be visiting another casino from now on.
The location is convenient for concert-goers, but that's about all the positives I can find. The place had a strong sewage smell, and the prices were exorbitantly high—double what you'd usually expect on a regular night due to the concert. To make matters worse, there was no food available after the concert, despite the fact that we had paid extra for dining credits as part of our concert package.
I enjoy gambling, but I really dislike leaving smelling like an ashtray. While I understand that you can’t get free drinks like in Vegas, it would be nice if the prices were more reasonable. Additionally, the restaurants close quite early, so if you’re hungry after 10 PM, your only option might be a vending machine on your floor—if you happen to be staying there.
