I have been a patron of HK Buffet for over 12 years, as they are the only Chinese buffet in the area. During this time, I have noticed some changes in their level of friendliness and overall service. The food is decent, but not on par with other Chinese restaurants in Columbia or Summerville. They do make good Mei Fun, although it is not served on the buffet. Recently, I experienced an issue with a takeout order where it was not ready when I arrived, despite placing the order 40 minutes prior. My experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. We arrived around 8 o'clock and were promptly seated, but I found very limited options on the buffet, mostly consisting of overcooked and dry chicken dishes. I was pleased to see cold shrimp, but there were only a few left which my wife and I had to split. The sushi bar had only 3 broken pieces that were not edible. The salad bar was also lacking lettuce. Despite feeling still hungry, the buffet was not replenished even as more people came in for takeout. I don't eat Chinese food very often but their food is delicious. Large selection to choose from. Business is clean and I like that they have hand sanitizer station at the buffet and a couple of other places. I also liked the quiet atmosphere with soft music. You can carry on a conversation without loud music going on in the background. Staff very friendly and attentive to customers. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend
The waitress only brought drinks once and was never seen again. It was a terrible experience. The food was also not very good. The rice was hard as a rock, the chicken was dripping with grease, the potatoes were hard, and the noodles were only halfway cooked. I wouldn't even feed this to a dog.

Took more than 15 minutes to get drinks. Some issue with staffing and there was a hiring sign on the door. The food was hot and fresh. The place was crowded and tables were uncleared so had to wait on a table too.
They never have my green beans.. and food seems like it's old and Luke warm food Dietary restrictions: The labels don't add up with the food.. and they always say crab in the ragoons is imitation
Best Chinese food ive EVER had ! Every time i go the food is hot and fresh . The buffet is budget friendly also !!! Ill definitely continue to go !
