Hong Kong House Restaurant

I recently tried takeout from a restaurant I have been going to for 25 years under new ownership. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The food has changed drastically since the previous owner, Peter, left. The dishes are now greasier and of poorer quality. The owner even argued with me about a dish that was supposed to have thick noodles, but now they are like spaghetti. Overall, I was very disappointed with the food - it was greasy and not up to the same standard as before. It's sad to see a long-time favorite restaurant change for the worse in an attempt to cut costs. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. I placed a Doordash order with specific instructions for no egg, fish, or meat in the noodles due to my wife being vegan. I even called the restaurant to confirm the instructions. Unfortunately, the noodles still had fried egg in them. When I called to address the mistake, I was met with attitude and no apology. I was told to return the order and have half of it sent back to me, but it has not arrived after over an hour. This will be my last time ordering from this place. It's not just about the food, but also about the unprofessional behavior that has turned me off. There are better Asian restaurants in the area.

Found chicken balls DRY to large with the tiny's bit of chicken, sauce tasteless. Spring rolls disliked filling also not fresh.Rice odd flavor, can't put my finger on it. Was not to our liking. This was a take out order totaling more than $50.00 dollars. October 30th 2021. Phoned the next day to speak to manager, only to let him know about above, because of restaurant being under new management. Promised a phone call back at 4:00pm. Nothing thus this rating.

Since the new ownership took over, the food has been terrible. The new owner insisted that the long time chef has stayed on but he lied to my face. Dont waste your money!

Lately we get all of our Chinese takeout from the Hong Kong House! Always enjoyed their tasty foods!
