I have been to this cafe twice on both occasions there was no table service until I went up to the counter requested menus. Other people were complaining asking if there was in fact table service. On the last occasion we ordered...the pumpkin bruschetta. after ordering we were asked if we wanted the pumpkin... main component of the dish. When it arrived the pumpkin was hard inedible. As there was no sign of the waitress we ate around the pumpkin. When collecting the plates I notified them of the issue no apology or discount. Over priced, under deliver. So many places to choose from on Ormond Rd avoid this one
Couldn’t decide whether to give two stars or three. Being generous because I only ordered one thing. No atmosphere, admittedly a cold midweek day, and not many around. The girl looked pretty vacant when I walked in, so did go and ask for a menu....Asked whether it was table service, and she said I can come to you if you want. All dishes seemed quite big, and not sure when the meal was made. Had zucchini and corn fritters, obviously heated up, a bit oily and overdone. Ate as much as I had to, to not feel hungry, but won’t be back. Paid and left as soon as I could...
One of elwoods finest!! We have been here several times for breakfast and lunch over the past month and even more times for takeaway coffee.. we have yet to try sometging off the menu we did not love but the cauli tortillas, chicken bao burger...and the french toast have been a stand out.. super fresh, tasty and sooo flavoursome.. the coffee is goon and always consistent
Breakfast here today was delicious! I had the breakfast greens and my sister had the pulled pork eggs benedict. We were pleased with both. The fresh juices were good too. We both commented on how friendly and helpful the guy serving us was. Will definitely...be going back again another time.

Visited here a few times. Drinks are great! Food is always to a good standard but the service can be slow sometimes. The staff are friendly and accommodating but take their time. The price is on the higher end but it’s a great relaxed place...to catch up with friends on occasion.
We have eaten breakfast at Hummingbird twice over the past several weeks. The food was served quickly, hot and everything was tasty. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. I noticed a few negative reviews on this cafe, but our experience was...very positive.
We had a really nice breakfast with great coffee and service. Breakfast menu was extensive and good portions. Good to see some young new Australians making a go of a business. Appeared to be a strong takeaway coffee business through a window servery.

This place is a hidden gem. Today I’ve had the mushroom with a poached egg, veggie croquette , roasted carrots and creamed spinach. Absolutely delicious . Highly recommended.
We had a really good coffee and pastries there and the service was fast and excellent! Recommended
