Hunan Express used to be my favorite spot for Chinese food in Crofton, but I noticed their prices have gone up. When I picked up an order today, I was charged nearly a dollar more per meal than the menu price, with no explanation or receipt provided. While I understand inflation, the price increase doesn’t seem justified given the portion sizes. The food is still excellent, and I’ve never had any problems before. I still order from here sometimes, but not as frequently as I used to.
Apologies for the quality of the photo, but the food was fantastic. I upgraded the sesame chicken to white meat for an extra $1.25, and it was definitely worth it. This might be one of the best Chinese take-out chickens I've had in a long time. The vegetable lo mein was a bit greasier than I prefer, but it wasn't enough to affect my overall rating. The food was reasonably priced, well-portioned, conveniently located, and most importantly, tasted great!
I have to agree with the previous review. Prices went up on our regular delivery order by $16.00 !!! but the amount of meat was AT LEAST half than it was before. During this Biden inflation, either charge the old price for less meat or charge the new price for the same amount of meat as before. Can?t have it both ways and expect people to continue to order. I?m disappointed because I liked their food but won?t be ordering again.

At Hunan Express, I experienced an unreasonably long wait for my order—it was placed at 5 PM and didn't arrive until 6:10 PM on a Sunday. I chose chicken with broccoli and crispy beef from their menu, dishes that shouldn’t have taken so long. When the food finally arrived, it was stone cold and the sauce had begun to coagulate. In terms of flavor, the meal was only average at best.
I visited Hunan Express on the evening of November 28, 2022, and ordered the Singapore noodles. When I transferred the noodles to a smaller bowl, I found a hair in my food! I called the restaurant right away, and the woman on the phone asked me to come back. They gave me a replacement dish, but after that experience, I definitely won’t be returning. It was very unpleasant!
Was here the evening of 11/28/2022 and ordered Singapore noodles. As I was placing the noodles in a smaller bowl to eat, I found hair in my noodles!!! I called this store right away and the lady asked me to come back and I was able to get something else,but I will never come back to this restaurant ever again, yuck! ????????????

the food was hot and gross. The rice tasted like it was warmed over and did not taste fresh . The delivery guy demanded a tip that i barely had and would not leave until i gave it to him.
