I recently visited Island’s Restaurant for only the second time, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The location was convenient to our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were seated promptly and the service was quick. Our server was not only efficient but also fun and helpful. Although they were out of the onion rings that I had my heart set on, I ended up sharing a delicious cheeseburger with my son. The fries were cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The waitress was pleasant and friendly, but her service was slow and not very attentive. She got my order wrong, and I had to reorder twice for different items, which increased the already lengthy wait time. The music was excessively loud, making it difficult to hold a conversation, and I was seated next to a booth with noisy guests and rowdy children. While this isn't necessarily the establishment's fault, it would have been better if patrons were given the option to avoid being seated near such disruptive groups.
We returned for Happy Hour once more, and once again, the food, service, prices, and atmosphere did not disappoint! We're excited to come back and sample more items from the menu. One notable point is that my husband doesn't drink. I asked the bartender to make him a virgin passionfruit margarita, but instead, they suggested a passionfruit lemonade—and they were spot on! We'll definitely be back!
We did have a scary incident when we stepped outside; a police car was arriving, and we called out to him about the situation, after which he sped off in pursuit of the car involved.
Overall, we really enjoyed stepping out of our comfort zone and trying new things. Thank you, Seal Beach Islands!
