What an unexpected delight! The restaurant is clean, offers plenty of options, and when you request toppings like pickles, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on your sandwich, they don’t disappoint. The lettuce is perfectly trimmed, the tomato is evenly sliced, and the pickles are freshly cut! Plus, the mayo comes on the side in a cup, and they even provide metal silverware at your table. The chicken sandwich was also delicious. Now, let's talk about the pie. There's a pie happy hour from 2 to 5, and honestly, it’s worth it even outside of those hours! I tried the mixed berry pie, and it was amazing, with a tender all-butter crust. With friendly service and great food, we will definitely be returning...
I have been here a few times recently, but frankly it’s not always on my radar. We live in Lake Forest, which is seriously lacking in choices for carry out. For whatever reason we decided to stop and pick up dinner. I love their pies….and the chicken and biscuits. I love Rueben sandwiches, but I haven’t had a good one in years. I ordered one tonight. IT WAS THE BEST RUEBEN I’VE HAD IN 10 YEARS… Well done, Jay Lovell.
Jay's is a quaint, nicely decorated restaurant with quite excellent food. Just to be clear, the burgers and fries are awesome, but there are plenty of other tasty, well-prepared items on the menu as well (try one of the fish entrees; those alone will keeo you coming back). Don't skip the blueberry pie if they have it. Don't be surprised if you find Jay or his lovely wife at the register.
This place is incredibly frustrating. It is NEVER open! I've never seen it open even once. It's not available for breakfast and is always closed for dinner. I'm giving up!

Had a fantastic co salad with their homemade green goddess dressing. My wife had a monstrous chicken salad sandwich what she looked very good too. Service very friendly

Charming restaurant with delicious food, and the dessert menu is absolutely fantastic!
