I ordered the shrimp kabob again, and my husband ordered the chicken kabob as usual. This time, my shrimp was rock-hard and had an overpowering fishy smell. I addressed the issue with a waitress, the same one we’ve seen almost every weekend, but she responded with an attitude, claiming it was simply “well done.” There’s a huge difference between well done and burnt to the point of being inedible; I didn’t ask for it that way—just for it to be properly cooked. I’m struggling to rate this place. My husband and I were in the Rutherford area, feeling hungry, when we decided to stop by this restaurant. As a strict vegetarian, I informed our server of my dietary restrictions. She recommended a dish that she assured me was meat-free, containing only beans and vegetables. However, when my dish arrived, I discovered it had meat in it—specifically, what appeared to be beef—after I had already tasted it. Although the server offered to waive the charge for the meal, we chose to pay anyway, as that's our principle. Unfortunately, I must say this has been my worst restaurant experience to date. The Iranian lady who hosted us and served the food was wonderful. She took the time to explain everything on the menu. We started with a hot eggplant dish paired with freshly baked bread, which was incredibly delicious and comforting. We brought our own wine to enjoy alongside it. For the main course, I ordered the chicken soltani, and the kebabs were among the best I've had—so tender and juicy! I thoroughly enjoyed the food at this restaurant. I opted for takeout for lunch and found the prices to be reasonable, ranging from $10 to $20 per person.
