Our friend brought us here at Kâu Ba and this was definitely one of my favourite highlights of this trip. Kâu Ba is an award winning restaurant featuring some of the most delicious and incredible food items in the world. Every item that we ordered were super tasty and delicious. But in particular, two items that are MUST ORDER are 1) Texas Style Smoked Brisket Pho and 2) Pho Loma Cocktail. Oh mine! Edit: my first review was 2 years when I came 4 times a week, because it was just that good. The smoked brisket pho now is unfortunately a hit or miss. They must’ve changed vendors and also everything else. Where the meat was tender and full of flavor before it is now hard and even with it being smoked it is still lacking flavor. My husband and I have tried ordering the fatty brisket and ordering it chopped sometimes helps but sometimes the taste of death in the meat is overpowering. It was horrible. I was so looking forward to the meal. We had guests from out of town and after talking up the amazing Vietnamese food in Houston, this was embarrassing. The scallops were bland, not sure was up with salmon salad, the escargot had the consistence of a leather shoe, the vermicelli was tasteless, the banh mi bread was soggy and fell apart, and the grandma’s something was a mess. Wish we had gone to our neighborhood pho shop instead.
So, after we reserved on open table, we headed to the restaurant and were super excited about our visit but as we arrived we realized the place was closed. There was a small sign on the door that said the city was doing some work in the neighborhood, so they could not open that day. Would’ve been nice to get a message or a call from the restaurant to let us know they were closed and avoid the drive.

From start to finish, everything at Kâu Ba was unique and delicious. The service was perfect. This place is truly a gem. Well done Kâu Ba. We can’t wait to visit again!
Great food and value. The appetizers were delicious and very much enjoyed my ribs. Will be returning!
The restaurant was closed. We showed up after making a reservation and it was just closed.
My husband and I used to love Kau Ba, but we left disappointed this time.
